The annual Garma Festival returns to North East Arnhem Land from 31 July – 3 August 2026! Hosted by the Yothu Yindi Foundation, Garma is Australia's largest Indigenous gathering and celebration of Yolŋu life and culture.

In partnership with Yanawal Units, The Yolngu Host has created a Garma Local Tourism Package. Accommodation, tours, transport and transfers all included! Extend your stay and book the ultimate experience with an inclusive package.

Stay at Yanawal Units in Nhulunbuy and explore what East Arnhem Land has to offer with The Yolgnu Host. Two package options are available, before and after Garma Festival event dates. This package includes:

  • Garma Festival site transfers (to/from Nhulunbuy)

What to Bring

  • Comfortable, sturdy walking shoes suitable for uneven terrain.

  • Sun protection: hat, sunglasses, sunscreen.

  • Refillable water bottle to stay hydrated.

  • Lightweight, breathable clothing; layers recommended for changing weather.

  • Insect repellent.

  • Camera or smartphone for photos (optional).

  • Respectful attitude and readiness to follow cultural guidance.
